Dawn Marie Maddox, age 71, of Whitesburg, Georgia, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2025.

She was born August 19, 1953, in Fort Lee, New Jersey, the daughter of the late Charles D. Jackson and Gloria LaBlanc Jackson. Dawn enjoyed a successful career as an executive with Estée Lauder before her retirement. She will be remembered for her grace, strength, and the love she shared with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, James Edward Porter; half-sister, Kim Parrott; and brother-in-law, Donald Weaver. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Shane Maddox; son, Cortny Maddox; and sisters, Heidi Weaver, Sharon Porter, and Sonny Masterson.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. at Carroll Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
