David Hildebrand, a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away peacefully at home September 30, 2026 at the age of 84 years old. Born on August 30, 1942 in Nebo, NC to the late Robert Paul Hildebrand and Margaret Seagle Hildebrand.
He leaves behind his faithful wife of 64 years, Brent Walker Hildebrand. Sons and their spouses, Kevin (Sherri) Hildebrand, Eric (Tammy) Hildebrand; grandsons, Wade (Stephanie) Hildebrand and Jake Hildebrand; granddaughters, Maddie Hildebrand of Austin, TX and Ella Hildebrand of Chattanooga, TN; and great grandchildren, Karley, Amanda, Reed and Cale Hildebrand; brother Kenny Hildebrand; and sister, Susan Hildebrand Wray. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Hildebrand. David grew up in Nebo, NC graduating from Glen Alpine High School in 1960 and graduated from Lenoir Ryne 1969 with a Chemistry degree with a minor in Math. Leaving Nebo/Morganton, NC he moved his family to Charlotte, NC to work for ICI American. He retired from Inter Bake Foods in Carrollton, GA where he put his sales talent to work in 1972. David volunteered at Open Hands, 12 for Life and a faithful member of King’s Chapel Presbyterian PCA Church where he led a men’s Bible study. His charm and wit were known to all he met. David had a faithful servant’s heart that he demonstrated every day. We give God all the glory as he returned into His Father’s hands.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 2, 2026 from 6 PM to 8 PM at Almon Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 10 AM at King’s Chapel Presbyterian.
Interment will follow in the Carrollton City Cemetery with Wade Hildebrand, Kevin Hildebrand, Jake Hildebrand, Reed Hildebrand, Eric Hildebrand and Dr. Charles Davis serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Cale Hildebrand and King’s Chapel Men’s Bible Study group.
