Obituary

David Michael Burnette, age 81, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away on January 16, 2025. He was born on September 9, 1943, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Simmie Courtland Burnette and Mary Elizabeth Baggett Burnette.

David's love for service began early in life, enlisting in the United States Air Force on September 17, 1962. He proudly served as a dental lab specialist until his honorable discharge on September 16, 1966. After his military service, David began a 54-year career with Henry J. Hudson and Associates as a dental lab technician, where he built a reputation for skill and dedication.

His interests were many and varied. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was riding his motorcycle, cutting the grass on his tractor, or spending hours in his garage tinkering and doodling. He was also known for his talent in making jewelry for his family. Above all, David loved being a part of his grandchildren's lives, often attending their ballgames and supporting them in their endeavors.

Faith was a cornerstone of David's life, and he was a dedicated member of Journey Fellowship Baptist Church. He cherished the time spent with his church family and found strength in his faith.

David is survived by his beloved wife of 61years, Carmen Burnette; daughters and sons-in-law, Paige and Jeff Andrews, Brittney and Chris Mabe, Rachel and Matthew Kempf; grandchildren Caitlyn (Mat), Hannah (Seth), Chelsea (Pedro), Chandler (Rebekah), Courtland (Ashton), Maston, Salem, Jameson, Emma, Joshua, and Brooklyn; great-grandchildren Adeleigh, Hawk, Sevvy, Kynnlee, Sorelle, Rowan, Kylie, and Battle; and his sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Jack Harrington.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his infant daughter Angel Burnette, and his brothers Joe, Dan, and Frank Burnette.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025, from 3-5 p.m. at Almon Funeral Home, followed by a Celebration of Life service in the chapel at 5 p.m. Mr. Chris Mabe will give the eulogy, and Pastor John Lemmings will officiate.

The family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in the form of plants that can be enjoyed for years to come or consider donating to the GO Fund Me at https://gofund.me/9a25a1a0

David's legacy of love, faith, and service will live on in the hearts of his family and all who knew him.
