Mrs. Cornelia Hamilton Mitchell, 99, of Carrollton passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.

Born on December 6, 1925, in Canyon, Texas, Cornelia was the daughter of the late Homer Milton Hamilton and Mary Bell Lackey Hamilton. She retired from Lamar Manufacturing in Bowdon, Georgia where she worked as a seamstress. A devoted member of Sardis Baptist Church, Cornelia found strength and community through her faith.

Cornelia was preceded in death by her husband, Millard Martin Mitchell; her daughter, Yvonne Gentry; and her brothers Lilburn Hamilton and Gerald Hamilton.

She is lovingly remembered by her children: Becky Grizzard of Ranburne, Alabama; Terry Mitchell and wife Janice of Ephesus, Georgia; Martha Thornton and husband Tony of Carrollton, Georgia; Sue Henderson of Woodland, Alabama; and Milton Mitchell and wife Brenda of Ranburne, Alabama. She is also survived by her brothers Don Hamilton of McClain, Texas, and Roger Hamilton of Hereford, Texas; ten grandsons; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Cornelia's long life was marked by dedication to her family and community. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.

Graveside and inurnment will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 5 PM in Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery.
