Mr. Coleman Waldrep, age 76 of Carrollton, Georgia went home peacefully Tuesday evening, July 30, 2013 surrounded by his loving family after an extended illness. Coleman was born May 28, 1937 in Randolph County, Alabama, the son of the late Ronnie Nichols Waldrep and Ruby Coleman Waldrep. In his teen years he worked and learned to fly. He also worked in the West Point Mill while attending Auburn University until being recruited to manage a rock quarry plant. Shortly thereafter he was asked to join Allied Concrete Pipe plant in College Park where he worked in the Precast pipe industry for thirty years. He was elected and served as President of the Southeast Precast Pipe Manufacturers Association. Due to illness he took early retirement and joined his wife in buying the oldest florist in Carrollton, Anderson's Florist. He and his wife Carolyn worked together until their retirement and sold the flower shop to their children. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Norton Waldrep; sons and daughter-in-law, P.T. and Karen Waldrep of Carrollton; Dean Waldrep of Jacksonville, Florida; daughters and son-in-law, Sandy Waldrep Adams and Joe Adams of Carrollton, Traci Waldrep of Jacksonville, Florida; grandchildren, Josh Waldrep, Elle Waldrep, Megan Kennedy, Brandon Kennedy, Blake Kennedy and Klayden Kennedy; brother, Paul Waldrep of Randolph County, Alabama. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ruby Eddy; brothers, Earl Waldrep, Pierce Waldrep and Ed Waldrep. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Friday, August 2 from noon until 2 p.m. Funeral service will be Friday, August 2 at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Dr. Steve Davis officiating. Music will be by Corey Pearson. Pallbearers will be Perry Waldrep, Leon Norton, Joe Adams, Anthony Wolski, Walter Dean Duke and Willard Burks. Honorary pallbearers will be Mac Skinner, Employees of Anderson's Florist and Government Tax Services. Interment will be in Carroll Memory Gardens.
