Mr. Ezra Cole McEwen, age 74, of Carrollton, GA passed away Sunday, January 10, 2016. Mr. McEwen was born on November 21, 1941in Carroll County, GA the son of the late William Henry McEwen Sr. and Sarah Frances Cole McEwen. He was a resident of Pine Knoll Nursing Home and loved reading his Bible, woodworking, working with his hands, his animals, whistling and joking around with others. He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church and was loved by his family very much. Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, W.H. McEwen, Jr. and Elaine of Douglasville, GA; niece and caregiver, Kim (Steve) Thompson of Carrollton, GA; nephew, Clay (Roberta) McEwen of Bremen, GA; niece, Susie (Rev. Ricky) Shadrix of Carrollton, GA; niece, Rilla (Dave) Hancock of Carrollton, GA; aunt, Myra Terrell of Forest Park, GA; several great nieces and nephews and several cousins. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe and Kate Cole. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday, January 11, 2016 at 1 p.m. from the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Shadrix officiating. The family will serve as pallbearers. Interment will be in Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery.
