Obituary

Cheryl Ann Faulkner Madden, age 68, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2025. Cheryl was born on October 18, 1956, in Carroll County, Georgia, to the late Byron Faulkner and Tina Tru Smallwood Faulkner Miles. She was also lovingly raised by her stepfather, the late Horry Lee Miles.

Cheryl was a graduate of Bowdon High School, but her greatest achievements were found in the love she shared with her family and everyone she met. She devoted her life to being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, pouring her heart into every relationship and always spreading laughter and cheer. Cheryl and her husband, Rick, were also the co-founders of Liberty Counseling, where her compassion and faith guided others through life's challenges.

Cheryl's joy was contagious, and her unconditional love for people was a true reflection of her faith. She believed in being a light in this world, and she lived that every day—whether through a warm hug, a kind word, or simply her presence. Cheryl's philosophy was simple but profound: darkness can't exist where there's light, and her life was all about shining that light wherever she went.

She is survived by her devoted husband of almost 51 years, Rick Madden; her children, Amy (Sean Rabun), Rebekah (Jeremy Williamson), Katie (Ben Meredith), Hannah Madden (David Ortiz), and Jason Madden; her grandchildren, Farrah (Spencer Gaston), Merrick Rabun, Adah (Austin) Toney, Ezra Rabun, Abigail Madden, Breanna Madden, Jacob Madden, Asher Madden, Alyssa (Logan Moran), Noah Williamson, Judah Williamson, Dakotah Meredith, Landon Meredith, and Loghen Ward; and her great-grandchildren, Bentley and Braylon Toney, and Ella Moran. Cheryl was also preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, and her sister, Vicki Lovvorn.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Cheryl's incredible life on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Camp Creek Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, with a funeral service following at 2:00 PM, officiated by Pastors Chuck Thomas, Marc Limbaugh, and Jeremy Williamson. Cheryl will be laid to rest in the church cemetery. Friends and family will gather at 145 Bethel Church Road immediately following Thursday's service to continue honoring Cheryl by sharing lots of memories and stories.

Cheryl's light will continue to shine through the countless lives she touched. She leaves behind a legacy of love, joy, and faith that will never be forgotten.
