Mr. Charles Oly Duncan, age 82 of Carrollton, Georgia died Tuesday, August 11, 2015. Mr. Duncan was born in Carroll County, Georgia on May 26, 1933, the son of the late Brown Duncan and Eunice Lyle Duncan. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served as a military police and had worked with Southwire as an scrap material coordinator. Mr. Duncan volunteered with hospice for several years, was a member of American Legion Post #143 and First Christian Church. Survivors include his wife, Joyce P. Duncan; son, Miller Clark Duncan of Carrollton; sister, Gloria Eidson of Roopville; grandchildren, Edwin Drake Duncan, Sean Luc Duncan, Taylor Clark Duncan. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Opal Wood, Clarice Alexander, Brownie Sheeley; brothers, Calvin Duncan and Roy Ervin Duncan. A memorial service will be Thursday, August 13 at 1 p.m. at First Christian Church with Minister Randy Barnhart and Minister Dwayne Hicks officiating. The Victory Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearer and American Legion Post #143 will provide military honors. The family will receive friends following the memorial service in the library. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tanner Hospice, P.O. Box 1136, Carrollton, Georgia 30112.
