Obituary

Charles "Doc" Glenn Stuckey, age 84, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on

Tuesday, August 12, 2025.

Born on May 9, 1941, in Sumter, South Carolina, Doc was the son of the late James Albert

Stuckey, Sr. and Alice Smith Stuckey.

He spent 70 of his 84 years in Bishopville, South Carolina serving for many years as a teacher,

coach, principal, and administrator in the Lee County public schools. A devoted educator, Doc

earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of South Carolina and retired

as Education Administrator with the Lee County, South Carolina Board of Education. Doc was a

member of Carrollton Presbyterian Church.

Doc was a Life Member of Bishopville Masonic Lodge #104 and retired from the Air Force

National Guard.

Before his failing health he was an active member of the American Legion Post #143 of

Carrollton Ga., and friend of Master Gardeners of Carrollton, Ga.

He is survived by his loving wife, Bette Johnson Stuckey; stepsons and daughters-in-law, Chris

Gray (Marcia), Scott Gray (Wendy). Grandchildren Dr. Erin Gray, Jarett Gray (Staci), Britnie

Brown (Jeffrey) and McKenzie Helms (Josh). Great grandchildren Noah Brown, Houston Brown,

Ollie Brown and Ezra Gray. Brothers Heyward Stuckey and Jimmy Stuckey. Nieces Elizabeth

Stuckey Murphy, Dorothy Stuckey Holland and Rev. Leigh Stuckey.

Special thanks to the staff of Carrollton Manor and Tanner Hospice for their compassionate

care toward Doc and the family.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 2:00 PM at

Carrollton Presbyterian Church with Pastor Leigh Bonner officiating, followed by the interment

of his ashes in the CPC Memorial Garden. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Carrollton Presbyterian Church

Renovation Fund/Building Fund, 124 Maple Street, Carrollton, GA 30117, or to a charity of

your choice.
