Mr. Cecil Clyde Whittenburg, age 68 of Rockmart, Georgia passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2021.
Mr. Whittenburg was born in Crossville, Tennessee on August 13, 1953, the son of the late Pete Clyde Whittenburg and Joyce Fragge Whittenburg. He worked as a Crew Chief at Tatum's Tree Services and attended Beulahland Baptist Church in Rockmart, GA. Cecil was always fixing something. Helping somebody. Providing for others before himself. He had a passion for his family, especially his grandchildren Ava and Hudson. Cecil had an amazing story of grace and reconciliation which brings comfort knowing he is with his Savior.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Daemon and Jill Whittenburg of Carrollton; grandchildren, Ava Whittenburg, Hudson Whittenburg; brothers, Charles Whittenburg of Crab Orchard, Tennessee, Darrell Whittenburg of Crossville, Tennessee; and a special uncle who was like a brother, Tony (Donna) Whittenburg of Rockmart. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kyle Whittenburg.
Funeral service will be Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 12 noon at Roopville Road Baptist Church with Dr. Stephen Peeples officiating with Jason Whittenburg and Daemon Whittenburg giving the eulogies. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10am until 12 noon.
Pallbearers will be Daemon Whittenburg, Darrell Whittenburg, Jason Whittenburg, Jay Williams, Tony Whittenburg and Rusty White.
Interment will be in Roopville Road Baptist Church Cemetery.
