While still a student at Carrollton High School, she met and later married West Georgia student, Claude Wills of Atlanta. They had one son, Preston Parkman Wills, who preceded her in death. Preston, prior to his untimely passing, was an outstanding athlete in both high school and college.

In addition to Preston, Carroll was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Frances Parkman, and step-mother, Mary Parkman. She is survived by her husband, Claude Wills, brothers David Parkman (wife Beverly), Ralph Parkman (wife JoAnn), sister Patti McLaurin (husband Ted Burlage), step sister, Milah Lynn (husband Steve), step brother Jerry Pass (wife Lynn). Nephews Mark Parkman (wife Kelly), Mel Parkman (wife Pam), and niece Julie Ivey (husband Lance Ivey). She is also survived by 16 great nieces and nephews and several cousins.

Outside the family Carroll's greatest loves were her Lord and her church. She was an active member and and Bible study teacher in Holly's Angels Sunday School class and also did some secretarial work for the church.

Professionally, Carroll held a number of key positions in the banking and real estate industry having worked for Bank of America and Coldwell Bankers.

In her last written request shared with her brother Ralph before Thanksgiving, she said "I wish I could be more like Jesus to all people and show the way to Him through my example.''
