Mrs. Carolyn Cooley Brannon, age 78 of Bowdon, Georgia passed away Monday, February 29, 2016. Mrs. Brannon was born in Bremen, Georgia on November 16, 1937, the daughter of the late James Fletcher Cooley and Ima Shirey Cooley. She obtained her Bachelor's Degree from West Georgia College and was a member of the Business Professional Women's Club. She retired from Southwire and later returned to Southwire to work in the Wellness Center and was a member of Clem United Methodist Church. Survivors include her granddaughter, Casey and Kevin Beaty of Dallas, GA; sister, Gail Cooley Shackelford of Tybee Island, GA; nieces and nephews, Amy Cooley Ward, Jim Cooley, Tressa Cooley, Danni Cooley, Carolee Shackelford, Charlie Shackelford and Beth Shackelford Brewer; sister-in-law Penny Cooley of Carrollton. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd Brannon; sons, Wayne Brannon and Tim Brannon and brothers, Jimmy Cooley and Frank Cooley. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Friday from 12 noon until 2 p.m. Funeral service will be Friday, March 4, 2016 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Standridge officiating.
