Mr. Brian C. Shaffer, age 50 of Cornell Court, Villa Rica, Georgia died Wednesday, November 10, 2010. Mr. Shaffer was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on December 8, 1959, the son of Norma Rae Wurzer Shaffer and the late Charles Robert Shaffer. He graduated from California State University in Pennsylvania, was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army and Peace Corps. Mr. Shaffer worked as an IT Specialist with the Social Security Regional Office and a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Giovanna J. Shaffer; sons, James D. Shaffer, Benjamin C. Shaffer all of Villa Rica; mother, Norma R. Shaffer; brother and sister-in-law, David S. and Gina Shaffer; sister, Charlene R. Hudson all of Latrobe, Pennsylvania; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arnaldo and Minerva Guzman; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Juan Carlos and Yolanda Guzman, Alfredo and Mairiz Guzman, Jorge Luis and Leonora Guzman; sister-in-law, Pierina Guzman and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles R. Shaffer and brother, Dwayne Shaffer. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, November 15 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Father Rafael Carballo officiating.
