Obituary

Mrs. Bobbie Jo Mashburn Denney, age 79, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, July 12, 2024.

Born in Coweta County, Georgia, on December 12, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Winston Guy Mashburn and Cora Theo Williams Capes. Mrs. Denney was a graduate of Central High School and had worked as a supervisor at SMI before her retirement. She was a member of the former New Lebanon Baptist Church and she found joy in antique shopping, cross stitching, canning, and flower gardening.

She is survived by her loving husband, Charles Denney; her son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Keri Denney; her daughter and son-in-law, Carla and Daniel Swain; her cherished grandchildren, Wynston "Wyn" Denney, William Swain, Morgan and Xavier Scarborough; and her great-grandchildren, Baylor Scarborough and McCoy Scarborough. She is also survived by her sisters and brother-in-law, Patricia Harris, and Linda and Ricky Carnes. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Felton Mashburn, and her brother-in-law, Stanley Harris.

The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Sunday, July 14, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Almon Funeral Home, with Rev. Neil Awbrey and Mr. Terry Harper officiating.

Pallbearers will be Wynston Denney, William Swain, Xavier Scarborough, Billy Carnes, Wes Carnes, and Spencer Gaston.

A private family interment will be held on Monday at Carroll Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Glenloch Baptist Church, 2807 Glenloch Rd, Franklin, GA 30217.
