Betty Jean nee Tyre Wright, 83, of Red Bud, IL; born September 3, 1926 in Atlanta, GA; passed away peacefully Sunday, October 18, 2009. Betty was affectionately known as "Mama Wright� in Carrollton, GA where she lived for many years and raised and nurtured her family as an exceptional homemaker. She was an avid gardener, skilled baker and frequently volunteered at Tabernacle Baptist Church. Born in Atlanta, GA, Betty moved to Red Bud, IL in 2007 and enjoyed developing a new extended family in Red Bud, IL She is preceded in death by her parents Ted C. and Ruby A. nee Bradley Tyre. Her husband Raymond Barnes Wright whom she married on October 1, 1949 in Atlanta, GA and who passed away September 22, 1976. One son – Gerald "Skippy� Wren; One grandchild – Sarah Ashley Thompson; Two brothers – Carlton Tyre and Ted Tyre. She is survived by her children – Three sons - Gene Gordon Wright, Chicago, IL; Raymond Stanley (Jeanne) Wright, Red Bud, IL; David Patrick Wright, Philadelphia,PA; Three daughters - Cheryl Dianne "Missy� (Mark) Danas, Greenwood, SC; Vivian Marie (Andy Raper) Wright, Atlanta, GA; Amanda Faye "Mandy� (Stan) Nickens, St. Louis, MO. Eight grandchildren – Rebecca "Becky� (Eric) Hartmann; Jason (Sarah) Thompson; Jeremy (Laurie) Wright; Kevin (Shonnie) Wright; Brent Thompson; Kelly (Marty Attea) Wright; Jack Nickens. Fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild on the way. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Friday, October 23, 2009 from 3:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the chapel of Almon Funeral Home on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 11:00a.m. with Dr. Howard Cobble officiating.
