Mrs. Betty Jean Dollar, age 80, of Carrollton, GA passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015. Mrs. Dollar was born on June 15, 1935 in Carrollton, Georgia the daughter of the late EV Chandler and Nancy Parker Chandler. She retired as a secretary for Family Health Care of West Georgia and a member of New Vision Baptist Church. She enjoyed arts and crafts, decorating and being a hairdresser. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Renee and Kenneth Rooks of Carrollton, GA; son, Joe Mashburn of Tallapoosa, GA; grandchildren, Corey (Mandy) Rooks, Brandy Rooks, Brandon Mashburn, Lucrete Mashburn, Madison Mashburn, Zachery McDonald, Courtney McDonald; numerous great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mildred Horton; brother-in-law, Robert Redding and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James William Dollar, Jr.; step daughter, Donna McDonald and 3 sisters. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 25, 2015 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Dr. Kenneth Rooks officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10 a.m. until the service hour. Inurnment will be in Carroll Memory Gardens.
