Betty June Case, 95, of Carrollton passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2014. She is survived by her three children, Ronald (Sara) Case of Dandridge, Tennessee, Diane( Larry) Insko of Carrollton and Garmon (Debby) Wheeler of Richmond, Kentucky, 8 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She leaves two sisters, Marian Schroeder of Lakeland, Florida and Jean Jahn, of Jefferson, Wisconsin. Mrs. Case, the widow of Stanley C. Case, to whom she was married for 59 years, was born in Jefferson, Wisconsin on June 23, 1918. Her parents Justus and Edna Brueckner preceded her in death as did an infant daughter Janet Jean Case. Mrs. Case attended North Central College in Naperville, Illinois and became an RN after training at Presbyterian Hospital in Chicago. While Mr. Case was serving in WWII, Mrs. Case served as a nurse in a military factory producing war materials. The couple moved to Brooksville, Kentucky where they opened Case Hardware, in 1947. While in Brooksville, Mrs. Case also serve as a private duty nurse, a hospital nurse and a nurse in a doctor's office. City View Farms, which became their home, was later developed by the Cases into a subdivision. In 1987 they moved to Lakeland, Florida where they lived after spending winters there for several years to be near her father at his winter home. She was active in church and community wherever she live and in Carrollton was a member of First Baptist Church and the Grace Sunday School class. A memorial service will be held at Carrollton First Baptist Church on Tuesday, January 14 at 11 AM. The service will be held by Dr. Steve Davis and Rev. Larry Insko. The body was cremated at her wishes. The family will receive friends in the Parkman Room following the service. A memorial service and burial of ashes will be held later.
