Crawford and his wife Darlene of Ranburne and daughter Sharon Alford and her husband Ted of LaGrange; grandchildren Terry Alford and his wife Lisa, Matthew Alford and his wife Lisa of LaGrange, Clay Crawford and his wife Carolyn of Burwell, and Carla Jackson and her husband Bo of Burwell; and Elaine, mother of Clay and Carla; step-grandchildren Justin Lovvorn and his wife Jade of Ranburne and Jessica Blanks of Bowdon; great-grandchildren Clancy, Madison, Claire, Will and Ben Alford of LaGrange, Maggie and Lainy Crawford and David and Stanley Jackson of Burwell; step-great-grandchildren Autumn, Brody and Reese Lovvorn and Lily and Sophia Blanks. Bernell spent most of her life as a loving, devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She was the epitome of the Christian servant, displaying a life-long patient, kind and generous personality. She worked for a number of years as a seamstress at Lamar Manufacturing Company in Bowdon. She was an outstanding seamstress and made beautiful clothes for her family. Bernell had a special touch for growing beautiful flowers and vegetables, which flourished under her loving care. Many friends and family enjoyed the fruits of her labors of love. One of Bernells crowning achievements was her service for many years as a pastors wife as she and Stanley served Methodist churches in Carroll, Heard, Coweta and Polk Counties. She was a long time member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. She was loved and cherished by the members of those churches. Bernell also spent a lifetime loving and nurturing the children in her life, who always brought her special joy. Well into her 80s, Bernell could be found on the floor playing with the babies and toddlers in the family.
Bernells family would like to express a special thanks to the staff of Cottage Landing and Bristol Hospice, as well as caregivers Malinda Hendrix, Maxine McClure and Dorothy Farmer. The loving service provided by these dedicated individuals was an outstanding comfort to the family over the past three years.
