Mrs. Barbara Meigs Robinson, age 89, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. Born on August 15, 1934, in Carroll County, Georgia, she was the beloved daughter of the late Thomas James Meigs and Josephine Forbus Meigs.

Raised in the Oak Mountain community of Carroll County, Mrs. Robinson attended Oak Mountain School. In 1946, Norman Rockwell visited the school and painted scenes and students from the one-room school. Mrs. Robinson was one of the last living students depicted in the famous "Norman Rockwell Visits a Country School" painting.

She retired as a bookkeeper for the Business Department of the Carroll County Board of Education and was a devoted member of Oak Mountain Presbyterian Church. Barbara cherished her time gardening, nurturing flowers, and engaging in crafts and sewing.

Mrs. Robinson is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Randall Crumbley of Bowdon; her son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Donna Robinson of Dallas; her grandchildren, Chad and Amber Crumbley, Katie and Johnathan Roberts, Jacob and Jessica Robinson; and her great-grandchildren, Pierce Crumbley, Emma Robinson, and Levi Robinson. She also leaves behind her brother, Richard Meigs; her sisters, Diane Jackson and Janice (Gene) Brown; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 70 years, Horace Lee Robinson.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers and staff at the Stewart House, Laurel Glen and the nurses of Agape Hospice.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Oak Mountain Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday. Interment will follow in Carroll Memory Gardens, with Chad Crumbley, Jacob Robinson, Johnathan Roberts, Cole Fendley, Glen Brown, and Ricky Meigs serving as pallbearers.
