Mrs. Barbara Parmer Meigs, age 87, of Carrollton, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 25, 2022.

She was born in Hamilton, Alabama, on May 18, 1935, daughter of the late William Hosea Parmer and Irene Ballard Parmer.

Mrs. Meigs was a homemaker and member of Oak Mountain Presbyterian Church.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and also enjoyed crafting, crocheting and loved sharing her angel pins with others.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, James Richard Meigs; daughter, Donna McJury; son and daughter-in-law, William Richard (Ricky) and Carla Meigs; grandchildren, Reilly McJury, Thomas Meigs, Richard McJury, Denney Walsh and husband Matt Walsh, William McJury.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law Robert McJury.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Almon Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 27, 2022.

Funeral service will follow the visitation on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Rev. Donnie Jones officiating.

Pallbearers will be William McJury, Thomas Meigs, Denney Walsh, Reilly McJury, Richard McJury, Glenn Brown and George Parmer.

Interment will be on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Carroll Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Oak Mountain Presbyterian Church, 402 Oak Mountain Road, Carrollton, Georgia 30116.
