Mrs. Barbara Akin Mabrey, age 73, of Point Ridge Court, Temple died Thursday evening, August 23, 2007.
Mrs. Mabrey was born in Bibb County, Georgia on August 27, 1933, the daughter of the late Fletcher Akin and Annie Pitts Akin.
She was a homemaker and had attended North Point Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Larae Redding of Temple; sons, Jackie Dean Mabrey of Fort Worth, Texas, William Todd Mabrey of Ringold, Georgia; sisters, Joyce Williams of Lubbock, Texas, Mary Lou England of Douglasville, Elizabeth Chaney of Tallapoosa; brothers, Richard Holder and Danny Holder of Lubbock, Texas; 12 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack W. Mabrey; sisters, Evelyn Newton, Melba Shumake, Faye Akin and son-in-law, Travis Wendell Redding.
Funeral services will be Sunday, August 26 at 3PM from the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Thompson and Rev. Mark Williams officiating. Music will be provided by Billy Thompson and Amy White.
Pallbearers will be Cody Mabrey, Barry Shumake, Jeremy Walker, Jacob Walker, Jimmy McInville and Marty England.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m..
Interment will be in Carroll Memory Gardens.
