Obituary

Mrs. Ann Rainwater Sanders, age 90, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 10, 2025.

Born February 13, 1935, in Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late E.H. Rainwater and Mary Nell Roop Rainwater. After her mother's passing when Ann was only four years old, she was lovingly raised by Narvelle Rainwater.

A 1953 graduate of Carrollton High School, Ann went on to attend Auburn University and later earned her Master's Degree from the University of West Georgia. She dedicated her career to education, retiring from Fairplay Middle School in Douglas County, where she touched countless young lives with her patience, kindness, and love for learning.

Ann was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and lived her life full of energy and joy. She was an avid tennis player and golfer, a loyal Atlanta Falcons fan, and a lifelong admirer of Elvis Presley. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, tending to her yard and flowers. Her love for animals was evident in the way she cared for them.  Above all, Ann cherished her family and absolutely adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend special thanks to Beckie Scudder, Lizzie Crowder, and the wonderful team at Heaven Sent Helpers for the compassionate care provided to Mrs. Sanders.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Judy Fuller Lane and Mills Lane; her son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Inga Fuller; grandchildren, Ethan Lane, Holly Lane, Molly (Chase) Wiggins, Nathan (Karen) Fuller, Emily Fuller, and Joseph (Irene) Fuller; and three great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and step-mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Sanders, and the father of her children, Emory Fuller.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from 11:00 AM until 12:00 Noon at Almon Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 Noon in the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Rev. Wally Dedman officiating.

Interment will be in Carroll Memory Gardens.
