Macie Anita White Buice (Anita Buice), 70, of Carrollton, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Saturday, April 25, surrounded by her children.

Anita was born on February 10, 1956 in Carrollton, Georgia the daughter of the late Millard E. White and Lela Mae Lambert White.

Anita was a devoted mother, grandmother, educator, and author whose life was defined by her boundless love for her family and her deep passion for literacy. She began her career as a second-grade teacher and later served as a principal, where she inspired countless students and educators with her belief in the power of reading, writing, and imagination.

A children's author at heart, Anita loved all things literary. Books were not just her profession—they were her joy, her creative outlet, and her way of connecting with others. Whether she was writing, reading, or encouraging a child to discover a new story, she poured herself fully into every word and every moment.

Anita was known for doing everything "over the top." She approached life with enthusiasm, creativity, and unmatched energy that made even ordinary moments feel special. Most of all, she loved her family fiercely and relentlessly. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her world, and she showed up for them in every way—with pride, generosity, and a love that knew no limits.

She is survived by her children and their families: Brooke and Jay Ivey, and their daughter Betty Ivey; Taylor Buice and Dr. Megan Grilliot, and their children Kaden and Kolin Rice; Erin and Neal Echols, and their children Jackson, Cooper and Cameron Echols; and Ellen and Zack Vandever, and their son Flynn Vandever. She also shared a lifelong bond with her former husband, Kevin Buice, with whom she built the family she cherished so deeply.

Anita had a special place in her heart for her beloved dogs. She was preceded in death by Gracie and Millie, and is survived by Pierre, who will miss her dearly.

A service to celebrate Anita's life will be held at First Baptist Church, with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. and the service at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2026 with Reverend Dr. Robert Brown officiating. For those attending please feel free to honor Anita's vibrancy and impeccable style.
