Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Angela Rose Bigley, a loving mother, devoted Nana, and military officer. She was born in Yonkers, New York on April 18, 1933, the daughter to the late Frank and Josephine Raguso.

Ms. Bigley passed away on November 4th, 2023 at the age of 90 after a lifetime of dedicated service to her country and a legacy of honor, courage, and unwavering commitment. She was a remarkable woman whose life was defined by love, wisdom, and kindness, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. As we mourn the loss of a remarkable woman, let us also celebrate the incredible legacy of love and service that Angela leaves behind.

Ms. Bigley graduated from Michigan State with her Bachelors in Nutritional Sciences in 1955. She served her country in the US Army as a registered dietician for 24 years. After retiring from the military with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, she worked as a registered dietician at Driscoll Children's Hospital. When she moved to Carrollton, she became involved in the community by volunteering at Tanner Medical Center. Angela's life was lived with a sense of purpose, dedication, adventure, and love.

She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Cassie and Chris Payne; grandchildren, Bianca and Matthew Cabrera, Lindy Payne Taylor (John); great grandchild, Jackson Payne Taylor, sister-in-law, Mary Raguso; cousin, Delores Mazzocut (Al); and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Lou Raguso and Peter Raguso.

A private family service will be held at Almon Funeral Home.

Interment with military honors will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 1pm at Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Veterans Cemetery Rd, Canton, Ga 30114.  The US Army will provide military honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude place, Memphis TN 38105-9959 or Guiding Eyes for the Blind, 611 Granite Springs Road, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598.
