Althea was born on July 28, 1939, in Allentown, Pennsylvania, to the late Edwin H. Sr. and Anna (Nonnemacher) Moll. She spoke fondly of her childhood which included 11 siblings. Althea shared 56 years of marriage with her late husband, Frederick A. Hines, Sr.
A woman of deep and steadfast faith, Althea belonged to the Apostolic faith, having been baptized in the name of Jesus and filled with the Holy Ghost early in her life. She was a longtime member of Our Father’s House in Catasauqua, PA, before relocating out of state.
Althea retired after 21 years as an assistant at Cross Country Clothes. Following her retirement, she continued to look after others by spending time caring for seniors. She enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed Pennsylvania Dutch food and treasured the many memories she made with her late husband, Frederick, attending bluegrass festivals and enjoying their shared love of bluegrass music.
She is survived by her daughters, Joyce Bachman (Dale) and Rebecca Carwell (the late Jeffrey); her grandchildren, Derek Miller, Tammy Erdley, Melissa Austin, Joshua Carwell, Jeremy Hines, and Sarah Sexton; her great-grandchildren, Sofia, Rosie, DJ, Cian, Logan, Finley, Preston, Aubrianna, Avanleigh, Adelaide, Ashlyn, Grayson, Deacon, and Wyatt; and her siblings, Robert Moll, June Simon, and Connie Stump.
Althea's loving spirit, steadfast faith, and devotion to her family will be deeply missed. Her family takes comfort in the memories she leaves behind and in the faith that was so precious to her.
