Obituary

Alma Rea Pettis Hadley, age 68, of Temple, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024.

Mrs. Hadley was born on May 26, 1955 in Foley, Alabama the daughter of the late Alma Pettis and Lottie Mae Wilson Pettis.

She was an amazing mother and granny who was selfless, caring, joyful and most importantly always put everyone's needs before her own. She stood in the shadow so others could shine, and was without a doubt a beacon of strength, light, love and joy. She was most famous for her chicken and dumplings, apple tarts and tamales. No matter the gathering one of these items would be present. She loved to fly and take planned or spontaneous trips. There was never a dull moment when she was around. She always kept everyone on their toes either by planning a trip or family gathering. We are so saddened by her loss and she will be greatly missed however, we are rejoicing in the Lord of her final trip and destination.

Survivors include her daughters, Amanda (Jerome) Odom, Heather (Devron) Owensby; grandchildren, Dillion and Canyon Odom, Legend, Avery and Landon Owensby; sisters, Donna Madden and Dorothy Edwards; brothers, Ross Pettis and George Pettis. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Douglas Pettis and Elec Wayne Pettis; sisters, Mary Jane Stewart, Lula Mae Wilson, Joyce Smith and Diane Taylor.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 3 pm from the chapel of Almon Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1 pm until the service hour.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 18, 2024 at 12 Noon at Craver's Funeral Home, 44 Foshee Road, Brewton, Alabama. The family will receive friends from 11 AM until the service hour.
