Mrs. Alma Reaves Grizzard, age 77 of Tyus Veal Road, Bowdon, Georgia died Friday, April 26, 2013. Mrs. Grizzard was born in Graham, Alabama on February 11, 1936, the daughter of the late Andrew W. Reaves and Minnie Cook Reaves. She retired from Bremen Bowdon Investment Company and was a long time member of Tyus Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughters, Vicki S. Grizzard of Carrollton, Susie Grizzard Thomas of Villa Rica; grandchildren, John A. Birdsong, II, Robert A. Birdsong, Lauren and Bo Lively; sister and brother-in-law, Grace and Charles Todd of Carrollton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lee and Claudia Reaves of Center Harbor, New Hampshire, Aaron and Becky Reaves of Lyons, Georgia. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Grizzard; brothers, Bonnie Reaves, Wilson Reaves, Paul Reaves and sister, Annie Couch. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Saturday from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Funeral service will be Sunday, April 28 at 2 o'clock at Tyus Baptist Church with Rev. Justin Richards and Rev. G.W. Burson officiating. Music will be by Terri Hornsby and Jan Hosey. Pallbearers will be John Birdsong, Robert Birdsong, LeRoy Grizzard, Steven Todd, Brian Moore and Mark Hornsby. Interment will be in Tyus Baptist Church Cemetery.
