Mary Agnes Bryan Jackson, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at the age of 94. Born March 19, 1931, in Heard County, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late James W.H. (Bud) Bryan and Dussie Stephenson Bryan.
A lifelong resident of Franklin, Georgia, Agnes graduated from Centralhatchee High School in 1948 and went on to earn a two-year degree in Accounting from Carroll Vocational Technical School. Her dedication to education and early childhood development was evident throughout her career, especially in her role as the Director of the Heard County Early Childhood Development Center, where she impacted the lives of countless young children and their families. Agnes was a faithful member of Centralhatchee First Baptist Church, where she had served as the church clerk and a devoted Sunday School teacher.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Benita (Ronald) Wortham; son and daughter-in-law, Tim (Teresa) Jackson; grandchildren, Marianne (Jimmy) Cole, Brad (Candi) Jackson, Emily (David) Cartwright, Gary (Lindsey) Wortham, and Nate Jackson; great-grandchildren, Ben (Jaynie) Cole, Christina (Pearce) Kirk, Harrison (Tiffany) Cole, Reagan Williams, Railey Williams, Jeb Jackson, Madelyn Cartwright, Jackson Cartwright, Wyatt Jackson, Hannah Jackson, Nora Cartwright; great-great-grandchildren, Adeline Kirk, Titan Kirk, Kingston Kirk; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry (Melba) Bryan, and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Malcolm (Estelle) Jackson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Everette Jackson; siblings, Doris Owensby, James Bryan, Virginia Jones, Annie Lee Bowles, Jackie Davis, Nell Hubbard, John Bryan, Hazel Bryan and Janice Bryan.
The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at 3:00 PM, at Centralhatchee First Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Williams, Rev. Andrew Owensby, Rev. Jeff Bryan officiating. Her body will be placed in state from 2:30pm until the funeral hour.
Interment will be in the Centralhatchee First Baptist Church Cemtery with Jay Bryan, Ben Cole, Pearce Kirk, Harrison Cole, Jeb Jackson, Jackson Cartwright and Wyatt Jackson serving as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Centralhatchee First Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 212 Church Street, Franklin, Georgia 30217.
