Obituary

Mr. Thomas (Tommy) Lewis Sullivan, age 62, passed away on December 22, 2016. Tommy was born in Carrollton, GA, on November 3, 1954. He lived in Carrollton all of his life. He is preceded in death by his mother, Amelia W. Sullivan, his father, Francis E. Sullivan, Sr., and his brother Robert (Bobby) R. Sullivan. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Sally Stephens Sullivan; children, Angie (Tom) Kendrick from Summerville, Dee (Katie) Hammond from Braselton; sister, Dottie (William) S. Hamrick, brothers, Jimmy (Elaine) Sullivan, Eddie Sullivan, sister-in-laws Susan S. Kellam, Nancy Sullivan, and brother-in-law H. Boyd (Diane) Stephens. Tommy was "Poppy" to his 5 grandchildren, Ty Kendrick, Corey, Layne, Natalie, and Caroline Hammond and loved to attend any school, church, and sporting event in which they participated. He was their biggest fan because he got such joy from being at their event. He was blessed with many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly and treasured the memories he shared with each of them. Tommy graduated from Carrollton High School in 1972 and West GA College in 1977 with a degree in Political Science. He recently retired as co-founder and Vice President from Quality Service Company, Inc. Tommy loved to travel with his wife and they would plan yearly trips to different places in the continental United States. He was a caring and generous person who never met a stranger. He was often mistaken for one of his brothers, but he would always be friendly and pleasant to everyone. He was an avid sports car enthusiast and attended many races with his racing buddies. Tommy was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church. Services will be held there on Thursday, December 29th at 1 p.m. with Rev. Karen Kagiyama, Dr. Dean Milford, and Rev. Dee Hammond officiating. Visitation is Wednesday, December 28th from 5 p.m. -7 p.m. at Almon Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Mark Johnson, Randy Almon, Jerry Oliver, Ronnie Burchfield, Bobby Thomason, Mike McGee, Doug Almon and Trey Traylor. Interment will be in Carroll Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Special Olympics Georgia, P. O. Box 20852, Atlanta, GA 30320-0852 (Partner ID # 05983354) or Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation, P. O.
