Mr. Luther Roy Brazeal, age 88, of Buchanan, Georgia formerly of Temple died Friday evening, February 17, 2012. Mr. Brazeal was born in Carrollton on June 20, 1923, the son of the late William Thomas Brazeal and Emmie Rogers Brazeal. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and retired from Temple High School where he worked as an administrator. Mr. Brazeal was a member of the 4-H State Advisory Board, Georgia Education Association, Carroll County Education Association and Temple First Baptist Church. Survivors include his children, Patricia "Pat" B. Attaway of Wedowee, Alabama, Donald "Donnie" Brazeal and his wife Cynthia of Cartersville; grandchildren, Cindy Nowak, Chris Riggs, Jonathan Barrett, Julia B. McDonald; great grandchildren, Logan Maddox, Erika Maddox; five great grandchildren and sister, Virginia McCracken of Roswell. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean K. Brazeal; infant son, James Brazeal; brother, Grady Brazeal; sisters, Nellie Shelton and Ruby Brazeal. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. Funeral service will be conducted Monday, February 20 at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Boswell officiating. Pallbearers will be Randy Bryant, Sammy Hathcock, Dwight Ezzell, Jimmy Riggs, Logan Maddox, Andy Lee and Johnny Levans. Honorary pallbearers will be Denney Rogers, Marty Rogers, and the Men's Bible Sunday School Class of Temple First Baptist Church. Interment will be in Carroll Memory Gardens with the American Legion Post#143 folding and presenting the flag.
