Obituary for Robert "Robby" G. Copeland

Robert G. "Robby" Copeland, age 76, of Carrollton, GA passed away from complications of Alzheimer's disease in the late night hours of Tuesday, May 28, 2019.

Robby was born July 17, 1942 in Talladega, AL, the youngest son of the late George Henderson Copeland and Grace Rooks Copeland.

He graduated from Bowdon High School where he was an avid Red Devils football fan. He loved taking vacation trips to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and getting acquainted with the ever expanding building areas near the Smoky Mountains. He liked to fish occasionally, read western novels and especially enjoyed family gatherings at special times throughout the year. He was a member of Martin's R.O.M.E.O. breakfast club for as long as he was able to attend. He was a member of Kansas Baptist Church.

In November, 1970 he began working in the Print Shop at Southwire Co. In 1989 he transferred to the Die Shop where he became an ISO 2000 certified Die maker. He worked in that department until his retirement in December, 2007.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Linda Wallis Copeland of Carrollton; brother, W. A. Copeland of Carrollton, sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda Green, Lucy White, and Martha and Hulion Pierce of Bowdon, Ginny and Dwain Geter of Roopville, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Otis Copeland, Cecil Copeland and Dan Copeland; brother-in-law, Travis Green and sisters-in-law; Patricia Copeland and Sue Copeland.

Special thanks to Sacred Journey Hospice for their outstanding kindness, gentle care, and emotional support they provided during the last month of his life. More thanks go to the professional, considerate and wonderfully caring employees and staff of Haralson Nursing and Rehab in Bremen, GA.

In keeping with Robby's last wishes his body was cremated and there was no memorial service.
