Mrs. Mazie Collins Scott, age 77 of Morningside Drive, Carrollton died Friday, January 14, 2011. Mrs. Scott was born in Cedartown, Georgia on August 21, 1933, the daughter of the late Robert A. Collins and Clara Estelle Carter Collins. She was a retired supervisor with Sewell Manufacturing and also worked at Kroger retiring in 1998. Mrs. Scott was a member of the First Christian Church. Survivors include her daughter, Krystal Scott Hill of Carrollton and granddaughter, Lauren Ashley Hill of Carrollton. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Russell Gordon Scott and sister, Barbara Meeks. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Sunday, January 16 from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Funeral service will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Rev. Alvin Hunnicutt officiating. Music will be by Mrs. Judy Hunnicutt. Pallbearers will be Ricky Collins, Tyrone Collins, Don Collins, Ronald Collins, Justin Smith, Camp Scudder, Bill Easterly and Travis Walker, Jr. Interment will be in Carroll Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Lung Association of Georgia, 2452 Spring Road, Smyrna, Ga. 30080.
