Mrs. Margaret P. West Brannon, age 92 of Carrollton, Georgia died Tuesday, May 26, 2015. Mrs. Brannon was born in Carroll County, Georgia on February 15, 1923, the daughter of the late John Preston and Desser Cash Preston. She worked at Genesco, Sun Products and Carroll County lunchrooms until becoming a homemaker. Mrs. Brannon was a loving mother, and caring grandmother and will be missed by her whole family. She was a member of Welcome Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughters, Eunice Morrow Smith and Donna Keaton, both of Carrollton; grandchildren, Elaine Thomas, Janet Rainwater, Pat Kiser, Lee Brand and Tracy Morrow; 10 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; sisters, Betty Lynch of Carrollton, Carol Argo of South Carolina and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband and the father of her children, Hoyt West, her latter husband, Arthur Brannon; her beloved son, Richard "Buddy" West; stepmother, Bessie Preston; brother, J.P. Preston; sister, Mary Preston and great great granddaughter, Mallory Barnett. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Friday, May 29 from 12 noon until 2 p.m. Funeral service will follow the visitation on Friday at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Bro. Tony Thompson officiating. Music will be by Judy Hunnicutt. Pallbearers will be Bryan Phillips, Keith Kiser, David Brand, Spencer Morrow, Tracy Morrow and Raymond Barnett.
