Mrs. Maida Rose Thomason Webb, age 94 of Carrollton, Georgia died Tuesday, July 8, 2014. Mrs. Webb was born in Carroll County, Georgia on December 12, 1919, the daughter of the late Walter Russell Thomason, Sr. and Mattie Celeste Brown Thomason. She retired after serving 40 years as the secretary for the Carroll County School Superintendant and was a member of the Pilot Club and First Baptist Church. Survivors include nieces, Marian (Buddy) Horton of Carrollton, Mary (Mark) Nixon of Tallahassee, Florida, Melissa (Chris) Ferguson of Winchester, Virginia, Molly (Kelly) Malone of Bolivar, Missouri, Maria (Charles) Mote of Roanoke, Alabama; nephews, Walter (Mona) Thomason of Hiram, Webb (Carrie) Fuller of Carrollton and several other nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J. L. Webb and brother, Walter R. Thomason, Jr. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Saturday, July 12 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. Funeral service will be Saturday, July 12 at 4 p.m. at the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Dr. Steve Davis officiating. Pallbearers will be Charles Mote, Buddy Horton, Mike Young, Frank Turner, John Reaves and Bill Templeman. Interment will be in the Carrollton City Cemetery.
