Joseph (Joe) C. Aycock, 81, of Stone Mountain, Ga. passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 5 at 11 a.m. at Clairmont Presbyterian Church with Rev. Owen Stepp, Rev. Ron Hieber and Rev. Frank Arnold officiating. Starting at 3 p.m., friends and family will progress to a graveside service at Carrollton City Cemetery with Rev. Stepp and Rev. Jan Tolbert officiating. A native of Carrollton, Ga., Mr. Aycock was the son of Jack Aycock and Emma Lee Kytle Aycock. He was predeceased by a brother, Jack Aycock, Jr., and he is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mae F. Johnson Aycock, a daughter, Lee A. Jenkins (Gordon), two sons, Cal Aycock (Anne) and John Aycock (Carolyn); a brother, Ed Aycock; and six grandchildren, Savannah and Scott Jenkins, Melanie and Mandie Aycock, and Marshall and Lillian Aycock. Mr. Aycock was a retired engineer from The Coca-Cola Company, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology, and an Eagle Scout at age 13, at the time the youngest in the history of Carroll County. Memorial gifts may be sent to Clairmont Presbyterian Church or Carrollton Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends at Clairmont Presbyterian one hour prior to the funeral services. Pallbearers will be Gordon Jenkins, Scott Jenkins, Daniel Johnson, Col. Kenneth Johnson, Owen Johnson, Cyril Johnson, Jeryl Johnson and Jim Erickson.
