Obituary

Jimmy Johnson Mr. James Martin "Jimmy" Johnson, Jr. age 55 of Carrollton died Wednesday, May 26, 2010. Mr. Johnson was born in Charleston, S.C. on December 16, 1954 the son of the late James Martin Johnson, Sr. and Lillian Sanders Johnson. Jimmy received a Bachelors of Science Degree from the University of West Georgia and worked with the West Georgia Police Department and served with the Carrollton Police Department. He was a Life Time Member of the Fraternal Order of Police , Carrollton Lodge # 35 and a member of the Sardis Baptist Church in Marietta. He was a avid Ham operator and computer operator. Surviving are his wife, Jane Daniel Johnson of Carrollton, sons and daughter-in-law, John M. and Christy Johnson of Bremen, Rob Smith, of Franklin, sister Susan Johnson Brown and her husband Roy Brown of Buchanan, grandchildren, Joshua Johnson, Megan Johnson, Mattie Johnson and Claire Johnson of Bremen, also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, May 30, 2010 at 2 pm from the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Rev. Talmadge Chandler and Chief Joel Richards officiating. Music will be furnished by Cloma Chandler, Tracy and Jillian Huddleston. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Saturday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Pallbearers include, Mike Bradley, Tony Johnson, Mike Thomas, Tommy Hosey, Jimmy Adams, Ricky Rayburn, Johnny Lynn and Willie North. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Carrollton Police Officers, past and present. Interment will follow in the Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery with honors by the Carrollton Police Department. Those desiring may make a contribution to the Carrollton FOP, Lodge # 35, 115 W. Center Street, Carrollton, Georgia 30117.
