Margaret "Jean" Harper Burgess, age 66 of Carrollton, Georgia passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2018. Mrs. Burgess was born in Carrollton, Georgia on October 15, 1952, the daughter of Jerry McEwen and the late Barbara "Bobbi" Almon McEwen. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Robby and Shannon Burgess of Carrollton, David and Carmen Childress of Olin, North Carolina; grandchildren, Haley Burgess, Jennifer Burgess, Lindsey Childress, Abigail Childress, Ellie Childress; brother, Richard Harper and sister, Deborah "Debbie" Bennett both of Carrollton. She was preceded in death by her mother, Bobbi McEwen. Funeral service will be Monday, November 26, 2018 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Rev. David Childress officiating. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Monday from 12 noon until the service hour. Pallbearers will be Jason Cody, Kain Cody, Jay Cody, Chris McGraw, Taylor Kemp and Layton Kemp. Interment will be in Carroll Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mt. Zion Eagles Marching Band, P.O. Box 691, Mt. Zion, Georgia 30150.
