Mr. James Conner Sharp, age 88, of North Hwy. 113, Carrollton went home to be with the Lord Thursday, September 30, 2010. Mr. Sharp was a Carroll County native, born June 5, 1922, the son of the late James William Sharp and Bertha Conner Sharp. He was a WWII Naval Air Force Veteran. Earlier in his career he was a Rancher and owner of Sharp Land Clearing. James Sharp was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church and the Assembly Sunday school class. Survivors include his wife Barbara Sharp; sons and daughter in-law, James and Carolyn Sharp of Maryville, TN and Richard Sharp of Lenoria City, TN; daughters and son-in-laws, Debbie Ann and Robert G. Peterson of Lutz, FL and Joyce Lynn and Michael Woodall of Odessa, FL; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Lynette Gibson. Funeral Services will be Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 2 PM at Shady Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerome Mitchell officiating and Rev. Justin Woodall Pallbearers will be Melvin Thompson, Harold Norton, Dawson Richards, John Puckett, Chuck Bennett and Steve Thompson. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, October 1, 2010 from 6 PM to 8 PM. Interment will be in the Shady Grove Baptist Church cemetery.The American Legion Post 143 will present the American Flag.
