Avice Vordell McEwen Colwell of Carrollton died Monday, January 30, 2012. She was born July 2, 1916, daughter of the late Harvey McEwen and Delphia McEwen. She was a member of Abilene Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Colwell was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Marvin Colwell; brother, Coy McEwen; and sister, Charlsie McEwen. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Don and Jill Colwell, and five grandchildren, Eddie and Becky Colwell, Sean and Addie Solomon, and Ash Colwell. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home Tuesday, January 31, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. A graveside service and interment will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Abilene Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Gerald Rogers officiating. Pallbearers will be Ron Boswell, Bubba Barker, Don McKenzie, Horry Johnson, Mike Wall and Robert Perdue.
