Mrs. Ruby Brown Shelnutt, age 88, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2012.
Mrs. Shelnutt was born April 19, 1924, in Carroll County to the late William and Catherine Brown.
Mrs. Shelnutt worked in the textile industry for many years and left her job to become a caregiver for several family members. After this, she went to work for Carrollton Elementary School, where she worked in the Cafeteria until her retirement in 1995.
She became a member of North Point Baptist Church, formerly West Carrollton Baptist Church in 1953 and was very active in the Women’s Missionary Union (WMU), Sunday School, and the Senior Saints.
She is survived by her children, Pat & Felix Robinson and Tim & Regina Shelnutt, both of Carrollton, sister, Burlar Arterburn of Newnan, grandchildren, Regina & Tim Bennett of Whitesburg, Chris & Suzanne Patterson, Matthew Robinson, and Hannah Shelnutt, all of Carrollton, 7 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Pink Shelnutt, infant daughter, Robin Shelnutt, parents, William & Catherine Brown, and 16 siblings.
Funeral services will be Friday, June 29th at 2:00pm at North Point Baptist Church in Carrollton. Pastors Rodney Agan, Hoyt Lewis, Shane Roberson, and Champ Agan will be officiating. Music will be provided by Barry Thompson.
Pallbearers will be Chris Patterson, Tim Bennett, Matthew Robinson, Scott Bennett Jeff Lewis, and Randall Hilton.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, June 28th from 5pm-8pm.

Interment will be in Centralhatchee Baptist Church Cemetery.
