Biography

Mr. Ralph Dennis Jarrell, age 69 of N. Hwy 27, Carrollton, Georgia died Friday, June 15, 2012.

Ralph was born in Carroll County, Georgia on June 17, 1942, the son of the late Fred Jarrell and Ruby Inez Thompson Jarrell.

He was a retired school teacher having taught at Whitesburg Elementary School. Ralph coached softball, baseball, football, and basketball at Whitesburg and Central as well as umpired with the Georgia High School Athletic Association. He had served with AmeriCorps VISTA and was instrumental in starting the local head start program. Ralph was a member of the Whitesburg Christian Church.

He is survived by numerous cousins and many special friends that was his family.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 23 at 11 a.m. at Whitesburg Christian Church with Minister Barry Shoemake and Minister Randy Knight officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the memorial service at the church.

Interment will be in Clem United Methodist Church Cemetery.
