Dorothy J. Smith
Mrs. Dorothy Johnson Smith, 88, of Maple Street, Carrollton passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2010.
Mrs. Smith was born in Carroll County on August 1, 1921, the daughter of the late David Monroe Johnson and Clara Williamson Johnson. She was a retired bookkeeper at Addison Smith Mechanical Contractors. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Carrollton Pilot Club, Tabernacle Baptist Church, and Faithful, Sharing Believers Sunday School Class.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Bobby Stewart of Carrollton, granddaughter, Amanda Stewart of Carrollton, sister, Aileen Popham of Douglasville, Sara Fay Wright of McDonough, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Addison H. Smith and two brothers.
Funeral services will be Friday, March 5 at 2:30 p.m. at the Tabernacle Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Howard Cobble and Dr. Jimmy Gentry officiating.
Pallbearers will be Gerry Popham, David Wright, Harold Phillips, Kyle Holloway, Donald Smith, Richard Smith, Henry McLendon and Larry Black.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Faithful, Sharing, Believers Sunday School Class, and the Carrollton Pilot Club.
The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Thursday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
Interment will be in Carroll Memory Gardens.
