Life Legacy
Ms. Paulson died February 3 after a long illness. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Lysle Paulson and two brothers, Wallace and Robert. She is survived by two brothers, Gerald and Deloris Paulson of Green Valley, AZ and Richard and Carolyn Paulson of Ortonville, MN, three sisters, Jennie McIntyre of Seattle, WA, Helen Trickey of Glen Carbon, IL, and Georgia and Ted Simons of Carrollton and two sister-in-laws, Janie Paulson of New Richmond, WI and Sheila Paulson of St. Louis Park, MN. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who all remember her as a special aunt.
Dolores (Dee) Eleanor Paulson was born in Isle, Minnesota, November 15, 1930 the fifth child of George and Lysle Paulson. When the family moved to St. Cloud, MN she attended and graduated from the Technical Senior High School. Ms. Paulson then studied at St. Cloud State Teachers College in preparation for nurse’s training. She moved to Minneapolis to attend the Eitel Nursing School associated with Eitel Hospital and received her RN degree. She worked in Minneapolis all of her nursing career and spent 30 years working as a surgical nurse at Hennepin County Hospital where she served as supervisor or head nurse within the department. When she retired, she moved to Franklin, NC where she spent 10 happy years living in the mountains. Due to ill health, Ms. Paulson moved to Carrollton five and half years ago to be near family. She lived most of that time at The Oaks, where she developed friendships with both residents and staff. She spent her time reading and sharing her books with her friends at the Oaks.
A memorial service will be held at The Oaks of Carrollton, 921 Old Newnan Road on Monday, February 8, 2010 at 4 o’clock. Mr. Mike Halstead will officiate.
The family requests that donations in her memory be given to the Alzheimer’s Group of Carroll County, Inc., P. O. Box 1273, Carrollton, GA 30112.
