Mrs. Florence Pearl Parrish Otwell, 99, of Oakdale Drive, Bremen, died January 15, 2010 in her home.
Mrs. Otwell was born October 12, 1910 in Carroll County to Oscar Daniel Parrish and Elizabeth Threadgill Parrish.
After high school, she attended the Draughton School of Business and returned to Sewell Manufacturing Company, where she became the executive secretary to Roy B. Sewell, Sr.
She was a member of Bremen First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women, and she attended the Stella Walker Sunday School class.
Surviving Mrs. Otwell are her nieces and nephews Dan and Vicki Parrish of Natchitoches, Louisiana; Dale and Lynne Parrish of Temple; and Pat and Claudia Parrish Waldrop of Carrollton; and stepson Charles and Lejeune Otwell of Bremen. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Raymond C. Otwell; stepson Ray Otwell, Jr.; sister Pauline Parrish Truitt; and brother Claude Parrish.
Funeral services will be Sunday, January 17, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. at Bremen First United Methodist Church with Pastor Wayne Monroe officiating, eulogy by Brian Claude Parrish, and Scripture reading by Elizabeth Waldrop Nelson. Music will be provided by Mrs. Martha Greer. Her body will lie in state from 3:30 p.m. until the funeral hour.
The family will receive friends in Branham Hall of Bremen First Methodist Church on Saturday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Parrish, Lindsey Parrish, Brian Parrish, Elizabeth Parrish, Michael Nelson, Elizabeth Waldrop Nelson, Jonathan Waldrop, and Jessica Schmitz Waldrop.
Interment will be in the Bremen City Cemetery.
