Obituary for Ruby Jeter

Ms. Ruby Virginia Jeter, age 100, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away June 12, 2018 at her home surrounded by the peace and love of her caregivers and family. Ms. Jeter was born in Carroll County, Georgia on October 8, 1917. She was the first of eight children and first daughter to Garland Daniel and Annie Mae Hughes Daniel.

Ms. Jeter was a loving and caring housewife, mother, grandmother, second mother to many and a very gracious and giving friend. She was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Carrollton. Her favorite hymns included “When the Roll Is Called Up Younder” which she sang frequently during recent days.

Ms. Jeter was the epitome of a true Southern Lady. She was raised during the Great Depression where she learned the importance of hard work and how to be extremely proud and grateful for all you are given. She exhibited a positive attitude while always showing grace and style. She appreciated the simple and beautiful things in life and never took things for granted. She enjoyed traveling the United States with her husband Bob and sharing special memories with close friends. She had a deep appreciation for decorating and entertaining for family and friends.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Bob Jeter, daughter, Mary Ann Perry, son Danny Jeter, granddaughter, Mary Alice Perry. In addition to extended family Ms. Jeter was preceded in death by five brothers Damon Daniel, H.L. Daniel, Jack Daniel, Barron Daniel, and Elic B. Daniel and two sisters Ruth Burns and Reba Earnest. Survivors include daughter in-law Becky Jeter, grandchildren, Judy Ray and husband Vince Ray, Jim Perry, Jenny Perry, Chad Jeter and Anne Jeter, great grandchildren, Christopher Hicks, Katie Perry, Drake Jeter, and Ravi Jeter.

A Celebration of Life will be Thursday, June 14, 2018 at the First Baptist Church at 11:30 a.m. with Dr. Steve Davis and Mr. Phil Carter officiating.

The family will receive friends Thursday at the First Baptist Church from 10:00 until the service time.

Pallbearers will be Phil Carter, Richard Dixon, Jim Collins, Lee Earnest, Mickey Burns and Greg Daniel. Caregivers of West Georgia, Jamie Shirey and Chris Duffey will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Interment will be in Carroll Memory Gardens.
