Obituary for Reed Davis Wilson

Reed Davis Wilson, beloved son and brother, passed away on April 25th, 2017. Reed was born on January 7th, 1994 in Bethesda, Maryland, and moved to Carrollton in 1996. He attended Oak Mountain Academy and graduated in 2012. After graduation, he attended the University of Georgia and the University of West Georgia, where he studied advertising and marketing.

Growing up, Reed was an avid sports fan and participated in travel soccer from a young age. Reed continued as a sportsman in high school, where he proved himself to be a natural at baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, swimming, and tennis, in addition to soccer.

Reed was an extraordinary soul, filled with kindness and empathy for others. He was known for his dry wit in any situation. Wherever he went, he brightened the room and made strangers feel like longtime friends. Reed had an infectious personality and could always bring a smile to anyone’s face. Reed will be dearly missed by his numerous friends and family.

Reed is survived by his parents, Britt and Julia Wilson, his brothers and sisters, Hunter and Katie, Collin and Brooke, and Blake, as well as his beloved grandmother, Joan Thornton, his aunt, Nancy Thornton, and his cousins, Joann and Pete Pederson and Emma Thornton. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jesse Thornton, and his grandparents, John and Beverly Wilson.

Visitation will be held at Almon Funeral Home in Carrollton on Friday, April 28th, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The funeral will be held at First Baptist Church of Carrollton on Saturday, April 29th at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to the Legacy Fund at First Baptist Church of Carrollton, 102 Dixie Street, Carrollton, Georgia 30117.
