Obituary for Milton Marlow

Herman Milton Marlow born July 25, 1927, died Friday, February 9, 2018. Mr. Marlow was born in the Farmers High Community, Carrollton, GA. Parents were Mae Craven Marlow and Lawrence W. Marlow. Mr. Marlow lived in Carrollton his entire life except for a short period in California when his parents moved to California near relatives in search of work during the recession of the 1930's. Survived by wife Virginia Smith Marlow which he married July 24, 1948. Also surviving are sons Tony Patrick Marlow, David Allen Marlow, Stephen Milton Marlow (Marcy) sister Nalda Otka (Chuck), 4 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps and served in Japan in the Occupation Forces.
Mr. Marlow owned and operated Marlow Body Shop in Carrollton many years and then was asked to develop the Auto Body program at West Georgia Technical College where he was an instructor for 13 years.

He enjoyed camping, golf, square dancing boating and water skiing and spending time with family and friends and especially enjoyed time with his friends at the Hardee's Saturday morning breakfast group. He also loved and enjoyed many animals through the years and most recently his cat "Junior".

He was preceded in death by parents, sister Charlene, brother Glenn, daughter in law Carole, grandson T.J. Marlow, brother in law Freddie Smith, sister in laws Pearlie Smith and Marcie Marlow, mother in law Lorene Smith Burgess, father in law Voll D. Smith.

Viewing for friends and family will be Sunday, February 11 from 3p.m. to 5p.m. at Almon Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Monday, February 12 at 2p.m. with Almon Funeral Home handling arrangements. Officiating, Reverend Tom Compton, pastor of Old Camp Methodist Church. Music by David Cook, Mark Barnes (It is well with my soul) and (Amazing Grace) And Sandra Stephens (I can only imagine) and (Thank You)- A favorite song of Milton's when sung by Sandra.

Pallbearers - Cass Marlow, Chris Marlow, Joe Marlow, "Buggy" Pike, Ronnie Attaway, Chuck Otka, Tim Thomas, Gerald Putman.

Members of Hardees Breakfast Club, Connor Bilezerian and Steve Jennings are honorary pallbearers.

Interment will be in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with American Legion Post #143 providing military honors.
