Obituary for Mike Duffey

Dorsey Michael Duffey, age 64 of Newnan, Georgia passed away Friday, December 23, 2016.

Mike was born in Carrollton, Georgia on February 7, 1952, the son of the late Dorsey Arzie Duffey and Sara Muse Duffey. He was most recently employed with Josey, Young & Brady Realtors following many years as a Real Estate Broker in his business Tall Oak Properties.

Mike was also a member of Newnan First United Methodist Church.

Mike was known for his larger than life personality. His resounding voice and laugh brought smiles to those around him. His love of the outdoors, travel and people made for many great stories and adventures, which he often shared with anyone who would listen. Mike loved the South and all of its traditions. He was a proud graduate of the University of Georgia as well as a member of the Kappa Alpha Order. Most importantly, he took great joy in his family. He will be missed.

Survivors include, Carol Duffey; sons and daughter-in-law, Sam and Amy Duffey of Birmingham, Alabama, Michael Duffey, Cole Duffey both of Atlanta; sister, Deanna Morrow of Carrollton; granddaughter, Livy Duffey; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of special friends. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Dr. Jimmy Morrow.

A memorial service will be held Friday, December 30, 2016 at 12 noon from the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Dr. Dean Milford officiating.

The family will receive friends Friday from 10 a.m. until the service hour.
