Obituary for Mable L. Pike

Mable Eula Lumsden Pike, 95 of Carrollton Georgia, became an angel on Tuesday, February 14, 2017. Mable had lived in Carrollton for most all of her life and in her present home for 67 years. She was very proud to be a member of the “Faithful Sharing Believers" her Sunday School Class at the Tabernacle Baptist Church. Her husband Homer Clyde Pike (better known as "Dude") preceded her in death in 1979.

Mable loved her family. She is survived by her three children, Homer Clyde Pike
(best known as "Buggy") of Carrollton, Jimmy(Dianne) Pike of Cartersville, GA, and Joyce (Bucky) Herschelman of Satellite Beach, FL. She was very proud that they all graduated from West Georgia College. Mable has 3 grandchildren, Will of Atlanta, Quent of Boca Raton, FL, Mike of Clermont, FL; three great-grandchildren of FL; one great great granddaughter of FL and a brother, James Lumsden of Carrollton. There were numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and many friends. And a special niece, Peggy Irwin. Also, the family would like to thank Brookdale Assisted Living for taking such special care of her. Mable was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Oscar Lumsden, Frances Barnett Lumsden; brothers, Hulett Lumsden, Willie Lumsden, Richard Lumsden; sisters, Nola Mae Nalley Walls, Ruby Haney and Hazel Pike.

Funeral service will be Friday, February 17, 2017 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen V. Allen officiating.

The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Friday from 12 noon until the service hour.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Haney, Alan Windom, Sonny Miller, Will Pike, Quent Herschelman and Mike Herschelman.

Interment will be in Carroll Memory Gardens.

Those desiring to do so, may send flowers or make a memorial contribution to Tabernacle Baptist Church, 150 Tabernacle Drive, Carrollton, Georgia 30117.
