He was born on July 31, 1936 and was a native of Meadow Bridge, West Virginia, the son of the late Duffa Wilson McGraw and the late Mary Bridges McGraw. He was a graduate of Smoot High School and a veteran of the United States Air Force, where he served in Vietnam. Mr. McGraw worked in the power plant industry for over 35 years and was retired from Fluor Daniel Construction Company.
Survivors include his wife, Janie Duke McGraw, to whom he married in 1959; daughters Lori Stash of Madisonville, Kentucky, Jeana McGraw of Atlanta, Georgia and Beth (David) McMickle of Comer, Georgia. Additional survivors include grandchildren Brad (Leanne) Cannon of Carrollton, Georgia, Brandon Collins of Temple, Georgia, Tiffany (Josh) Wilson of Madisonville, Kentucky, Chris McMickle of Comer, Georgia, Josh McMickle of Comer, Georgia and great-grandchildren Dison and Makayla Wilson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Leonidas McGraw and Sherman McGraw.
He was a man of few words (with three daughters, did he have a choice?). He loved his family, his country, his work and his beloved cat, Miss Kitty. Mr. McGraw greatly enjoyed fishing and he was able to spend much of his retirement years doing just that. He was a loved man and he will be missed.
